Role: Education Sales Representative
Reporting to: Education Sales Manager
Geographical coverage: Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan
Duties and responsibilities
As our Education Sales Representative, you will cover both Primary and Secondary schools. You will have a strong customer and sales focus and a desire to succeed. Your passion for education will further fuel your drive for this role and for promoting Gill Education’s products. The key duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Set and agree targets and KPIs for your area
- Secure adoptions of Primary and Secondary curriculum content packages (textbook, eBook, digital resources, etc.)
- Act as key contact for, and develop excellent working relationships with Primary and Secondary schools in your designated territory
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Gill Education’s product to support your role and to be able to handle presentations etc.
- Actively seek out, attend and participate in relevant trade exhibitions, subject conferences and other promotional events/opportunities
- Regularly report to the Education Sales Manager on achievement against targets, general market feedback on our products and other market information
- Organise and maintain customer data and records
- Attend subject conferences, roadshows and termly exhibitions throughout the year
- Work closely with telemarketing to best manage your time and territory
- Collect booklists and any other relevant market intelligence from within your territory and communicate it effectively to the business
- Work independently to create sales pipelines and develop the Gill Education brand in your territory
- Take accountability/responsibility for all customer orders and queries both textbook-related and digital
Key competencies/experience
- A track record of working to and displaying consistent achievement of targets is essential
- An ability to assimilate complex product information at pace is essential
- IT literacy and comfort is essential
- Experience of selling into Primary and Secondary schools a distinct advantage
- A passion for sales and a desire to learn and consistently improve on selling techniques
- A customer-centred approach to all activities and communications
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Highly effective communication skills
- Goal-focused, with a positive ‘can-do’ disposition
- Full clean driver’s licence
Contract terms
This is a permanent role; full-time hours within the Primary and Secondary school calendar, with the flexibility required to properly service a large geographic area.
