Gill, Ireland's leading publisher of educational and trade books, is seeking a Production Assistant for its demanding production department. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone to launch their Production career in an exciting company, with the chance to work on a variety of both Education and Trade projects.
To be successful in this role, you will love books, have a great eye for detail, be creative, numerate and comfortable prioritising and managing a busy workload. You will be a confident communicator and a strong team player. You will be adept at staying calm and focused under pressure.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
- Collaborating across internal departments and external suppliers to ensure requirements are met and accurately communicated
- Taking in reprint corrections in Adobe InDesign and outputting and proofing PDFs
- Provide general admin support to the Production team in areas including design, picture research and eBooks
- General office assistance including maintaining our production archive

Experience/Qualifications
- Third level qualification
- Experience working in an office environment is desirable
- Experience in another publishing role, not essential but beneficial
- Strong IT skills with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, particularly MS Excel. Experience in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat would be a distinct advantage
This role is based at our Park West, Dublin 12 office. During the onboarding period, the successful candidate would be expected to attend the office on a regular basis before a hybrid working pattern can be established.
